Thirty-two female writers from across Canada and the United States contributed transformative stories to this collection of women’s travel writing. Life-altering experiences occur when you take risks, venture beyond the safety of your home life, and step away from the path of tourists. “Engaging and compelling,” wrote the Globe & Mail.

My piece, entitled “Sundowners in the Cockpit,” tells of a health challenge encountered while travelling. One reviewer wrote that it “could have been a jaunty tale about a woman and her husband finally fulfilling their dream of owning a boat and sailing off into the sunset, … cocktails aloft. But her story centers on a small lump in her breast, found far from home … The beautiful way in which she brings these elements together … says more about her character than anything she could have articulated directly.”
